What is Pre-roast Preparation?
KOPIRICA coffee beans undergo meticulous hand-picking to eliminate all defects and rotten beans, ensuring the highest quality and safeguarding your health. They are then artisanally roasted using state-of-the-art, fully stainless-steel Hybrid Coffee Roasting Machines. After roasting, each bean is carefully hand-picked for Quality Assurance.
How Do We Roast Your Coffee Beans?
In conventional drum roasting machines, green coffee beans are introduced into a red-hot cast iron drum or, worse yet, a cheap, rusty carbon steel drum. This results in the scorching of the beans’ soft exterior by the red-hot, rusty surface, leading to bitter tars and a metallic taste in your coffee.
The uneven thermal transfer of conventional drum roasting machines causes inefficient conduction heat transfer from the outer surface to the core of the beans. Consequently, the exterior becomes charred or burnt while the interior remains insufficiently or incompletely cooked. The undercooked core imparts an unpleasant sourness, while the charred exterior contributes an ashy and burnt flavor.
Only with our hybrid roasters does a continuous stream of fresh, hot air permeate the roast chamber. Coffee beans are suspended and roasted on a bed of this hot air, creating a vortex within the chamber that evenly roasts each bean from all directions simultaneously. This innovative process also removes dust, chaff, and smoke from the roast chamber, ensuring a clean, pure, and balanced roast. The end product boasts a remarkably clean taste that is intensely aromatic, with enhanced flavor notes.
